Our Burial Services And Prices

Sheffield City Council are responsible for 16 cemeteries in the city. These being Abbey Lane, Beighton, Burncross, Burngreave, City Road, Crookes, Darnall, Ecclesfield, Handsworth, Intake, Norton, Shiregreen, Stocksbridge, Tinsley Park, Wisewood and Woodhouse. There are also four cemetery chapels which can be used prior to the interment, these are Abbey Lane, City Road, Shiregreen and Tinsley Park.

Sheffield City council also have a woodland burial site at Wisewood cemetery. You can have one interment only and this includes a marker stone and a choice of a native tree.

The Woodland Burial Ground offers the opportunity for those departed to ‘return to nature’ and contribute to the formation and preservation of natural woodland. It provides the ideal setting for a burial area, overlooking the beautiful Loxley Valley.

This type of burial is not intended for those who wish to place a traditional memorial stone on the grave, or for those who feel the need to frequently visit the site.

Each grave will be marked by a small stone marker and a choice of native tree. The grass will be cut infrequently and no horticultural chemicals will be used.

Graves are leased for a minimum of 50 years and for one interment only.
